Déjà Brew: Local Beer Roundup

I’m not sure if you keep track of holidays like we do, but we are always looking for a good reason to celebrate. What we’ve learned is that everyday has some sort of holiday, but some are more important than the others. For example, today, April 7th is National Beer Day! The sun is shining, the cold weather is gone and the universe is basically telling us we should totally do happy hour.

Since we support holiday celebrations of all kinds and want to make your happy hour plans a little easier, we thought we’d round up some of our very favorite Northeast Florida Breweries! Check them out!

Ancient City Brewery

A favorite of locals and tourists alike. 

Come hang out at their Taproom in historic downtown Saint Augustine or come play a round of pool and chat with brewers at the Brewhouse off SR 16!

Bog Brewing Company

Bog Brewing Company opened its doors in March 2016 and since has grown in lock step with the Northeast Florida craft beer scene. Their draft list features seasonally influenced Belgian, German and American-Farmhouse style ales. Head Brewer and Co-Owner Steve Mendoza leverages his years of experience in the craft beer scene as well as his travels overseas to inform and inspire the beers he creates. 

Visitors can enjoy a unique selection of seasonal beers, like the Smoked Datil Ale, brewed with locally sourced hot peppers, or the Saison Blanc, a saison aged in Sauvignon Blanc barrels for 11 months.

Dog Rose Brewing Co.

Dog Rose Brewing Co. opened its doors in Oct. of 2017 in the historic neighborhood of Lincolnville, mere blocks from the center of the historic district of St. Augustine. Their handcrafted ales and lagers are brewed with style and tradition in mind. Whether it be a German styled Hefeweizen or Maibock to a fruited sour or West Coast IPA, only the best ingredients are used to capture the flavor profile they’re looking for. The tap room is at once, spacious and open, yet cozy and inviting while leaving the brewery itself easily accessible. If bellying up at our handcrafted Ambrosia maple bar isn’t your thing, then maybe a friendly game of shuffleboard on one of their 16’ tables or even a game of cricket on their professional dart boards is more your speed. With 5,000 SF of space, there is more than enough room to spread out with all your friends.

Wicked Barley Brewing

Located on the banks of Goodby’s Creek, Wicked Barley Brewing Company is Jacksonville’s newest waterfront craft brewery. Since opening their doors in July of 2016, Wicked Barley has quickly become a premier destination for locals and out of town guests alike. The waterfront property features a large outdoor (dog friendly) Beer Garden, Kayak Launch as well as a 100′ boat dock. That’s right- you can access the brewery by boat! The taproom provides ample seating and a relaxing vibe as well as 20 taps with delicious house brewed beers, ciders and meads. Voted Best Brew Pub in the state of Florida by Best Florida Beer in 2017, Wicked Barley continues to be an awarding winning brewery and is known for their unique, boundary pushing beer styles. In addition to the expansive tap list, the brewpub also features a full gastropub style kitchen. The from scratch menu includes appetizers, delicious burgers, salads and sandwiches as well as a kids menu. Whether you are a newcomer or a craft beer connoisseur- there is a little something for everyone at Wicked Barley.

Fishweir Brewing Company

Inspired by the beautiful Fishweir Park where the brewery was born, Fishweir Brewing Company delivers a unique brewery and taproom experience in Murray Hill. With a goal to craft clean and locally inspired beer, Fishweir focuses on educating our customers and fostering relationships that allow the community to become an integral part of the brewery.

Come enjoy their quality, locally-inspired craft beer in the newly-renovated 1500 SF taproom and 500 SF (pet-friendly) patio space. In addition to their craft beer, they also have a selection of wine, kombucha, sparkling water, cheese flights and pretzels.
